ABOUT · TRÀ THẤT CỦA THU THỦY

In Vietnam, tea is
how we say hello.

Lady In Tea is a small Vietnamese tea house in Toronto: a first door into one of the world’s oldest tea lands, open to anyone. No ceremony, no rules to fear. The mountains do the impressing; we just pour.

Việt Nam là một trong những vùng trà lâu đời nhất thế giới — và thân thiện bậc nhất.

WHY WE OPENED · TINH THẦN

Two things, proven by the cup

01

Vietnam is a specialty tea land

Forests of un-hybridised tea trees, hundreds of years old, with harvests as distinct as wine vintages. Few places still have this.

02

Vietnamese tea is connection

A cup is a greeting; a tea table is where we meet. That is the one thing worth sharing.

Chén trà là lời chào, bàn trà là nơi gặp nhau.

EVERYTHING WE DO, IN THREE WORDS

We never compete with any other tea. The world’s teas sit at our table as honoured guests; Vietnamese tea wins by being a gracious host.Giới thiệu — Quảng bá — Kết nối.

Three hats, one host

What we really pour isn’t leaves — it’s a guided journey. Tea you can buy anywhere; a guide, you can’t.

THE INTRODUCER

Standing on giants’ shoulders

You already know sencha, Taiwanese oolong, aged pu-erh. We borrow that shared language to introduce a new friend from Vietnam — starting from a cup you already trust.

THE HOST

A Vietnamese table for the world

Teas from every country are welcomed and brewed with full respect, their own way. Vietnamese tea plays the host and pours the first cup — always.

THE GUIDE

From a familiar cup to a new one

From curiosity to understanding, from stranger to a regular at the tea table. The one question we ever ask: what did you discover?

HOW WE TALK · GIỌNG NÓI

Friendly, never fearsome

Vietnamese tea has no ritual to show off — only friendliness to offer. We never make anyone feel they don’t know enough to walk in.

And we’re honest: if there’s something Vietnam doesn’t do well yet, we say so plainly. That’s why you can trust our praise.
